WILLOWDALE TRANSIT AUTHORITY
An unconventional representation of Willowdale that riffs on subway maps and the neighbourhood's rich history. This installation is located indoors, lower level's south east entrance, next to the subway entrance at North York Centre.
ABOUT MATTHEW BLACKETT
Matthew Blackett is a graphic designer and the publisher, creative director and one of the founders of Spacing magazine. As publisher, Blackett has helped shape the magazine into one of Canada's top small magazines. Blackett was awarded the 2010 Jane Jacobs Prize for his contribution to creating dialogue around urbanism in Toronto. Under Blackett's artistic direction, the magazine has also been awarded international design awards for its layout, photography and TTC-inspired subway station buttons and magnets. Blackett will premier an unconventional Willowdale map for Oh Dear, riffing on his love of transit and the neighbourhood’s rich history.
